Exploring Truth Through Meditation

In the ancient tradition of a satsang (Sanskrit for "gathering together for the truth”), combining meditation with a discussion of modern and ancient texts can help us put life challenges in perspective, reduce stress and find our truth. In this class, we will explore yogic philosophy and modern writers of many traditions as a launching pad for our meditation. No prior knowledge is required, only an open mind.

Learn to maximize your down dog. How do you place the strength and stretch in the correct muscles to limit wrist and shoulder discomforts while augmenting the stretch to the backs of your legs? How wide do you set your stance, hands to feet, feet to feet, hands to hands? 

Even if you've been down dogging for years, you may want to refine the details of your asana. All are welcome!

Whether by cueing each pose individually or by offering the option to “take a vinyasa,” teachers frequently encourage students to move through high plank, chaturanga, up-dog, and down dog as a repeated sequence of poses. This class will focus on individual alignment of the poses involved, how to transition between them, and what modifications are available.

Yoga isn’t just flexibility - strengthen your body to increase stability and stamina!
Join this 8-session course to improve overall body strength through refining and sustaining poses that challenge. Some less dynamic poses (including savasana) will be incorporated to complement the strength practice. Open to all levels and limited to 5 participants in order to ensure individual attention/modifications.
